Please join the Tours Committee for a visit to Atlanta, Georgia, where we will enjoy art and architecture along with dining and shopping.

We will begin our visit on Tuesday the 6th with lunch at Swan Coach House and a tour of Swan Mansion, designed in 1928 for the Inman family by Philip Trammell Shutze, combining Renaissance revival styles with a Classical approach on the main facade. A visit to an artist's studio will follow.  Dinner that evening will be at LeBilboquet, a French restaurant famous for its Cajun chicken.

On Wednesday, after breakfast on our own, we head to the High Museum of Art, where Wieland Family Curator– and RFAS 2017 AE Juror – Michael Rooks will lead a tour. We will then leave for lunch at the Piedmont Driving Club. Late that afternoon we will shop while enjoying wine and hors d'oeuvres at Erika Reade, a fabulous shop in Buckhead. Dinner on one's own.

On Thursday we begin with a tour of the Georgia Governor's Mansion. The afternoon will be free for shopping and exploring. Dinner plans are still in the works, but will be within walking distance of the hotel.

The tour will continue through Friday morning. We will visit one or two private collections in homes of Friends of the High Museum, which Michael is arranging. Our agenda is still being tweaked, though, so a couple more surprises await!

PLEASE NOTE: The Tour price is for land ONL– each member will travel to Atlanta on her own. A suggested airline/flight will be made in January and transportation will be provided for the specified flight from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Buckhead. Return transfer to the airport will also be provided for an early afternoon departure on March 9.

Tour cost per person, excluding travel to and from Atlanta:

  • $1,900 single occupancy
  • $1,200 double occupancy

Please register online by December 18.

If more than 30 members sign up, we will conduct a lottery for both singles and doubles. Payment is not due until notification of acceptance in January, at which time you will receive information on airline flights.

We hope you can join us!
